Bruce McDougall’s short stories have appeared in sub Terrain, Scrivener and Geist magazines. He has written stories for children, which appeared in a series of readers called ZAP!, published by Fitzhenry & Whiteside Ltd. He is a former writer-in-residence at the Berton House in Dawson City, The Yukon.
Bruce McDougall has written more than twenty non-fiction books, including biographies of Ted Rogers and Edgar Bronfman Jr., as well as the best-selling Complete Idiot’s Guide to Personal Finance for Canadians. He wrote How I stopped worrying about retirement (without alcohol, nicotine, caffeine or other artificial stimulants) and co-wrote The Canadian Mortgage Book, with Gordon Pape. His books have sold a combined total of more than 60,000 copies.
Bruce McDougall has written for major consumer and business publications in Canada, including TIME, Maclean’s, Canadian Business, Equinox, Canadian Geographic and the Report on Business Magazine. He has been commissioned to write for some of Canada’s leading businesses, financial institutions, designers and public-relations specialists, including TMX Group, the Toronto Financial Services Alliance, Investors Group, the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships and Level5 Strategy Group. He has also contributed articles and columns to websites such as TFSA Update and PanAmericanWorld.com, which links Canada to the Americas through sport, culture and business.
